EASt welcomes Nora Van den Bosch and Juliette Schwak!

Nora has been awarded a 4 year FRESH scholarship from the FNRS for the project "The Transnational History of Sino-Belgian Education (1900-1950)," which will begin in January 2026 under the supervision of Professor Vanessa Frangville.
This scholarship acknowledges the relevance of the project and its contribution to the study of early educational exchanges between Belgium and China. Welcome to Nora, and congratulations on this achievement!

Juliette is an East Asian specialist with specific expertise in the economy and society of the Republic of Korea, where she has conducted extensive field research. Her areas of research include everyday political economy, development, labour, and promotional politics and nation branding. At ULB, she will lead an ERC project on Political economic nostalgia in East Asian societies. Congratulations to her and welcome to EASt!
