Mohamed Fahmi holds a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences (ULB). His research focuses on jihadist propaganda and terrorism. He teaches terrorism analysis at Université Paris 8 / Nouveau Collège d’Études Politiques.

He works as an Islamologist within the Federal Judicial Police. He also served as an expert in the trial related to the March 22, 2016 attacks.
