A trained translator, Isabelle Saint-Paul holds a Master’s degree in American Studies. She taught English and U.S. culture for several years to French- and Dutch-speaking staff at the American Embassy in Brussels.

For over twenty years, she has been teaching at the ISTI-Cooremans School of Translation and Interpreting and, more recently, in the Department of Information and Communication Sciences—both part of the Faculty of Letters, Translation and Communication (LTC) at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). A specialist in the United States, her teaching focuses on the history, institutions, and culture of North America.

She is actively involved in organizing conferences, seminars, and lectures addressing political and cultural issues in North America, and regularly contributes to projects related to intercultural mediation.

Her areas of expertise include the functioning and ideological foundations of U.S. institutions, social dynamics and diversity issues, American education policies, and cultural and media representations specific to the United States.
