Isabelle Meuret

Isabelle Meuret is a member of the AmericaS team. She has been a Professor of English, Anglophone Cultures, and Narrative Journalism at the Faculty of Letters, Translation and Communication of ULB since 2005. Holding a PhD in Comparative Literature, her research focuses on literary journalism, as well as literature and medicine.

She has been a visiting researcher at UCLA and Stanford (1999–2000), Columbia University (2019–2020), and at the Oxford Centre for Life-Writing, University of Oxford (2022–2023). She has also served as Research Chair of the International Association for Literary Journalism Studies.

More recently, she contributed to The Routledge Companion to American Literary Journalism Studies (2020) and The Routledge Companion to World Literary Journalism (2023). She also coordinated a special issue of the journal Literature and Medicine.
