Erwin Dejasse

Erwin Dejasse is a researcher, lecturer, and exhibition curator. He is in charge of the “Be Comics Lab” project, dedicated to the study and promotion of comic strip heritage at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR). He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Liège and a Professor at ESA Saint-Luc.

In 2008, he co-founded the interdisciplinary research group on comics, “ACME.” His research focuses on comics, outsider art, and punk culture. He is the author of Morris, Franquin, Peyo et le dessin animé (with Philippe Capart, 2005), Art Brut et bande dessinée (2023), and La Musique silencieuse de Muñoz et Sampayo (2004), the latter of which received the SoBD/9e Art Award.
