Successful EU Horizon Widera project for EASt!
Remote Ethnography of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Methodology and Research Capacity Building (REMOTE XUAR)
EASt is happy to announce that its director Vanessa Frangville, also a member of ULB’s Faculty of Lettres, Translation and Communication, successfully applied to a European Horizon Widera 2021 grant. The project, entitled “Remote Ethnography of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (REMOTE XUAR), will be led in partnership with the ULB, the Palacky University Olomouc (project coordinator) and the Würzburg University. It will be funded for three years, starting from January 2023, and will seek to develop a methodology of remote ethnography, to collect data and produce analysis of the situation in the Uyghur region. Vanessa Frangville and her team will focus on documenting the creative trajectories of Uyghur artists and the production and distribution of their artworks since 2016.
