Romain Busnel
Romain Busnel holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Lille and the Université de Montréal (joint supervision). His research, conducted as part of his doctoral thesis on coca growers in Peru and Bolivia, focuses on the relationship to illicit activities and the state from a comparative perspective.
Currently a Research Associate at FRS-FNRS at CEVIPOL, Université libre de Bruxelles, he continues this work by examining the uses and reinterpretations of anti-corruption efforts in Mexico (ANR CORRUPT-AL), as well as migrant mobilizations at the Guatemala–Mexico border.
He has published in Critique Internationale, Cahiers des Amériques latines, Politix, Cultures & Conflits, European Review of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, International Journal of Drug Policy, and Revista de Ciencia Política y Gobierno.
