Peter Eeckhout
Peter Eeckhout (PhD in Philosophy and Letters, 1997) is a Full Professor in the Department of Art History and Archaeology, specializing in pre-Columbian civilizations. He is the author and co-author of nearly 90 scientific articles in international journals and publications, and has authored, edited, or co-edited several books published in Lima, Brussels, Oxford, Cambridge, and elsewhere.
Since the 1990s, he has led ULB’s excavations at Pachacamac, a major site of ancient Peru listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also actively involved in public outreach, he has been the presenter and scientific consultant of the television program Archaeological Investigations, broadcast on Arte, since 2016.
