Nathalie Suarez Gonzalez
Holding a PhD in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Archaeology from the Université libre de Bruxelles, I am currently pursuing a second PhD in Pre-Columbian Archaeology, which I began in 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Peter Eeckhout and Dr. Caroline Polet.
My research focuses on the paleogenetic study of individuals from Pachacamac, Peru (ca. 500–1550 CE), using a holistic approach that combines paleogenetics, paleopathology, and funerary archaeology. I aim to bring together my two areas of training—archaeology and molecular biology—to better understand the populations that occupied the site.
