Najla Nakhlé-Cerruti, an agrégée in Arabic, is a research fellow at the CNRS. She is currently a researcher at the Ifpo and head of its Amman branch. Her work focuses on the poetics and archives of contemporary Arabic theatre.
Among her publications are The Individual at the Centre of the Stage: Three Palestinian Plays (Presses de l’Ifpo, 2020) and Palestine on Stage: A Palestinian Theatrical Experience (2006–2016) (Presses Universitaires de Rennes, 2022). Her monograph on François Abou Salem, founder of the Palestinian National Theatre/El-Hakawati, was published by Actes Sud-Papiers in June 2018 under the title Palestinian Theatre and François Abou Salem: From Project to Institution.
