Markus S. Enk

Socioenvironmental scientist (Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, 2016) holding a Master’s in Anthropology with specialization in Visual Ethnography (Leiden University, 2018).
My PhD research, conducted in LAMC/ULB, investigates indigenous food systems and the influence of industrialized food in the local gastronomy through multimodal ethnography and narrative methodologies. I collaborate with the indigenous Apurinã living in the Caititu Indigenous Land, at the Brazilian Southwestern Amazonia, together with the Associação dos Produtores Indígenas da Terra Caititu (APITC) and their work on reforesting their territory with Agroforestry Systems and their initiative in improving their cassava flour to access local markets.
