Postdoctoral Researcher

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Galatasaray University, Istanbul, she obtained her master's degree in History at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). In January 2021, she completed her dissertation titled “Une familière étrangeté. L’accueil des musulmans des Balkans en Turquie (1923-1964)” in Political Studies at EHESS. Her research focused on the categorization of foreigners in post-Ottoman Turkey, with a specific examination of the categories used in reception policies. From 2017 to 2022, she was responsible for the Ottoman Studies collection at the Collège de France. From 2022 to 2024, she worked as a temporary teaching and research assistant (ATER) in political science at Paris Nanterre University. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher FRS-FNRS, continuing her research on post-imperial nationality, focusing on the redefinition and negotiation of imperial old-age and disability pensions in the post-Ottoman space.
