Bruna Pastro Zagatto Bruna Pastro Zagatto holds a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences by the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. In 2019, she received a PhD in Anthropology by the Federal University of Bahia in co-supervision with the University of Strasbourg. She was a substitute professor at the Department of Anthropology and Ethnology of the Universidade Federal de Bahia (UFBA) between 2018 and 2020.
Currently she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for the Study of Political Life (CEVIPOL), Université Libre de Bruxelles and is a collaborator of the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of the Americas (AmericaS - ULB).
Her research focuses on socio-environmental issues in Brazil, including necropolitics, the formation of environmental militias and the military occupation of "quilombola" territories.
