Sbeih Sbeih is a sociologist and researcher associated with the Institute for Research and Studies on Arab and Muslim Worlds (IREMAM-Aix en Provence). After teaching in Palestinian universities, he conducted several research projects in Palestinian, Arab and French institutions. His research focuses on development and culture in Palestine, in particular on the "professionalization" of associative action under the pressure of donors, as well as on art and literature in the new condition created in Palestine after the establishment of the Palestinian Authority. During his research, he has been working on the issue of the circulation of ideas and the translation of social sciences into Arabic. He aims to work on issues related to the legalization of collective action in the Arab world, particularly in Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia and Libya.
