Salvatore Sclafani

Ph.D.Stu. in Art and sciences of Art (Musicology Laboratory)

Salvatore Sclafani holds a Master in Music Performance (Piano) and a Master in Music Pedagogy from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. Besides, he holds a Bachelor in Foreign Languages and Literatures (English and Hispano-American) from the University of Palermo. He is currently a PhD student in Arts and Arts Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles: his research focuses on the re-working of Argentinian traditional dances on Alberto Ginastera's (1916-1983) piano works. He takes part in conferences and academic activities in Belgium, France, Georgia, Italy, Serbia and the UK. He is one of the founding members of the international SONUS collective, dedicated to spreading the music of Argentinian and Latin American composers.

He gives concert-conferences on Argentine piano and performs as a pianist in Belgium, France and Italy. Salvatore Sclafani currently teaches piano at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles and at the Conservatoire de Maubeuge (France).
