Irene Zeilinger has been working as feminist self-defense teacher in the primary prevention of gender-based violence for more than 25 years. She has authored "Non c'est non. Petit manuel d'autodéfense à l'usage de toutes les femmes qui en ont marre de se faire emmerder sans rien dire" (La Découverte, 2008). In addition to a magistra in sociologie from the University of Vienna, she has obtained a master in Woman and Child Abuse Studies from London Metropolitan University. In her doctoral thesis at ULB, she currently examines the role of violence in masculine identities.
