Anneke Newman (BA Oxford, MA Institute of Development Studies, MSc and PhD University of Sussex) is an anthropologist of development. She is interested in unpacking and exposing the Eurocentric and secular biases underpinning development theory and practice in relation to education and gender, and building alternatives through collaborative praxis. Her regional expertise is Islamic West Africa.
