Piotr Juszkiewicz is an art historian and specialist of modernism. Among his interests and points of expertise are 20th-century art; art criticism from the 18th to the 20th century; film; new media; current interests: theoretical and philosophical issues related to modernity, Russian and Polish architecture and urban planning; modern projects of spatial organization, mainly Russian and Polish urban planning and architecture; architectural and social utopias; film studies, especially the relationship between official ideological discourse in the Polish People’s Republic and the films of the so-called “Polish Film School”; and Polish documentary films about art. He has curated several large scale exhibitions, dedicated mainly to Polish modernism.
