Pierre Hazan works in the field of armed conflict mediation. He specialises in transitional justice, amnesty and reparation. He has been a fellow at Harvard Law School and the United States Institute of Peace. He has also worked for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Previously, Pierre Hazan covered numerous conflicts as a journalist for Le Temps and Libération. He is the author of several books on international criminal justice, including Juger la guerre, Juger l’histoire (PUF), as well as on mediation, including Negotiating with the Devil (2nd ed., 2026). He has recently published Les Juifs, les Arabes, ma famille et moi (Textuel, 2026).
