Pierre Bonneels
Affiliated with Nagasaki Junior College and holding a degree in Buddhist Studies from Bukkyo University (Kyoto), Pierre Bonneels is the recipient of a research scholarship from the Japanese Ministry of Education at the University of Tokyo, where he conducted research in philosophy in the Department of Comparative Literature and Culture.
A member of the Belgian Francophone Group for Cartesian Studies and of the Research Group in Formal and Developmental Ontology, he is affiliated with the Centre for Research in Philosophy and the Doctoral School in Philosophy at the Université libre de Bruxelles, where he is currently writing a PhD thesis entitled “Tachi-araware” – Towards a new relationship between the thing and the mind with the Japanese philosopher Ōmori Shōzō (1921–1997).
In 2014, together with a group of researchers specializing in comparative philosophy and Japanese philosophy, he co-founded the European Network of Japanese Philosophy (ENOJP).
