Martina Mecco
Postdoctoral Researcher
Martina Mecco studied at the University of Padua. She obtained a PhD in "Germanic and Slavic Studies" at Sapienza University of Rome and at the Charles University in Prague. In her doctoral thesis, she analysed Roman Jakobson's activity in Czech periodicals published between the two world wars, focusing on his role as a cultural transfer between the Russian and Czech contexts. Within MODERNITAS, Martina works on the PDR project - "Belgium ‘read’ in Czech and German".She is also interested in the history of literary theory, in particular Russian formalism and Czech structuralism. Alongside her research activities, she translates from Czech, Slovak and Russian.
