Luc Cotinat, known by his pen name Morvandiau, is an artist and author. Published in both the French mainstream and alternative press, his work combines social and political satire, humour and introspection, and has resulted in the publication of around twenty books by Les Requins Marteaux, Le Monte-en-l’Air and L’Association. A teacher and researcher in comics at Université Rennes 2, he developed the essay Contrebande, une cartographie de la bande dessinée alternative francophone (Éditions du Commun, 2024) from his PhD thesis in fine arts. His latest book, Foucault – Vies parallèles, created in collaboration with philosopher Mathieu Potte-Bonneville, was published in September 2026 by Delcourt/La Découverte. His painting is represented by Galerie Alain Hélou (Brest).
