Kevin Henry

Kevin HENRY holds a PhD in Languages, Literature and Translation Studies from the Université libre de Bruxelles, as well as a PhD in French Language and Literature with a specialization in translation from Shanghai International Studies University. He is a professional translator in the humanities and has been a lecturer (Belgian equivalent of associate professor with habilitation to supervise research) at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, International School of Interpreters of the University of Mons since 2017, where he has directed the ChinEAsT laboratory since its creation in 2022.

A specialist in translation criticism and Chinese phraseology, which were the core subjects of his doctoral research, he focuses in particular on the critical history of literary exchanges between China and the Francophone world, the analysis of Chinese political discourse, and the translation of Chinese idiomatic expressions. His most recent research falls within the field of digital humanities applied to translation studies and Chinese studies.
