Jérémiah Vervoort
Jérémiah Vervoort is a PhD candidate in Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of the Université libre de Bruxelles and is affiliated with the Centre for Research in Criminal Law (CRDP). He is also a member of the Centre for Research on the Experience of War (CREG), which he joined in 2022.
His main field of interest is international criminal law, and more specifically the issue of colonial crimes. After completing a Master’s degree with a specialization in criminal and civil law, he obtained an LL.M in Public International Law in 2021–2022 (both at ULB).
He is currently an FNRS fellow and is conducting a PhD aiming to analyze the role that criminal law could play in addressing Belgium’s colonial past and its reparations.
