Helga Mitterbauer has been teaching German literature at the Université libre de Bruxelles since 2015; Austrian Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Alberta (2010–2015), PhD (2000) and venia legendi (2008) at the University of Graz where she taught from 1993 till 2013; Visiting professor (ELTE Budapest, University of Zagreb, University of Innsbruck); president of the coordinating committee of the book series CHLEL (Amsterdam, Benjamins) and co-editor of the book series Forum: Österreich (Frank & Timme, Berlin). She has published over 20 books and numerous articles on Austrian, German, and comparative literature.
