Eve Filée

PhD Student

Eve Filée completed a Master's degree in Central European Languages and Literature at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), and a second Master's degree in English Literature, specializing in didactics and education. In 2023, she began her doctoral studies at ULB under the co-supervision of Petra James and Dennis Ioffe, researching the reception of John Ruskin in the "regional" contexts of Belgium and Bohemia at the turn of the twentieth century. Her aim is to uncover overlooked aspects within historiographies, often influenced by the origin, gender, or reputation of the cultural mediators involved. Her research endeavours to address persistent invisibilities within European cultural narratives, also delving into neglected genres of literature such as modernist journals, children's literature, and literary criticism.
