Agnieszka Karpowicz
Her research interests include the anthropology of literature (the relationship between literature and the city and space, and the history of 20th-century Polish culture). She is particularly interested in (neo-)avant-garde and verbo-visual practices. She has studied, among others, the works of Leopold Buczkowski and Miron Białoszewski.
She is the author of the book Kolaż. Awangardowy gest kreacji (Themerson, Buczkowski, Białoszewski) [*Collage. An Avant-Garde Creative Gesture*]. She is a member of the Research Centre on the Avant-Garde and of the editorial board of the publication series awangarda/rewizje [avant-garde/revisions] (Jagiellonian University). She is also a member of the European Network for Avant-Garde and Modernism Studies (EAM).
She has led projects within the National Programme for the Development of Humanities: Anthropology of Verbal Creativity: Media, Genres, Practices and Topo-Graphies. City, Map, Literature. She has also curated literary exhibitions at the Museum of Warsaw.
