The MODERNITAS research centre is pleased to invite you to the exhibition "Belgian Crossings: The Avant-Garde Adventures of Belgian Books in Central and Eastern Europe".

The exhibition explores how Belgian literature and culture were received in Central and Eastern Europe. The prints and archival materials on display reveal how Belgian books, when travelling into a new geopolitical landscape, turned progressive - even revolutionary - in the hands of their new readers.

The opening reception will be held on Tuesday, 6 October 2026 at 18.00 in the Hall des Marbres (AX1.216), Solbosch Campus, Université libre de Bruxelles.

The exhibition runs from 6 October to 18 December 2026.
