Shogo Suzuki is Senior Lecturer at the Department of Politics, University of Manchester. His primary research interests are Chinese and Japanese foreign policy and Sino-Japanese relations, and has published articles on these subjects in European Journal of International Relations, Millennium, The Pacific Review, Pacific Affairs, and Journal of Contemporary China. He is also the author of Civilization and Empire: China and Japan’s Encounter with European International Society, as well as editor (with Yongjin Zhang and Joe. Quirk) of International Orders in the Early Modern World: Before the Rise of the West (both with Routledge).
