Paul-David Lutz

Paul-David Lutz is an anthropologist and (former) rural development advisor with a longstanding focus on Laos. He holds a PhD in anthropology from the University of Sydney and an MA in Intercultural Education from the Freie Universität Berlin. Dr. Lutz has published on the intergenerational aspects of agrarian change, socio-cosmological aspects of resource-driven development, intra-upland interethnic dynamics, oral history and Chinese power in northern Laos, as well as on social(ist) media in Laos. Currently, Dr. Lutz is an FNRS-funded postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire d'Anthropologie des Mondes Contemporains (LAMC). His research project investigates the interplay of animism, "market-Leninism" and agricultural transition among ethnic Khmu peasants in northern Laos.
