Mériam Cheikh

Mériam Cheikh is an anthropologist specializing in the moral dissidence of working-class youth in Morocco. Before joining l'Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (Inalco), she did her PhD at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and her post-doctorate at the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Edinburgh as Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow. Her research topics are gender and sexualities, juvenile cultures and police actions towards deviance and delinquency. She is the author of "Les filles qui sortent. Jeunesse, sexualité et prostitution au Maroc" (2020) and co-directed "Expériences du Genre. Intimités, marginalités, travail et migration" (2014).
