Marie-Pierre Lissoir

After a master's degree in musicology and a second in anthropology, Marie-Pierre Lissoir completed her doctoral thesis entitled "Le khap tai dam, catégorisation et modèles musicaux. Etude ethnomusicologique chez les Tai des hauts plateaux du Laos" at the ULB (lamc), in cotutelle with the Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris 3 (LPP). From 2015 to 2021 she worked as a researcher and exhibition curator at the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre of Luang Prabang in Laos. Her research and exhibitions in Laos focused on performing arts, handicrafts (basketry and textiles), belief systems, and intellectual property rights. While continuing to publish about her work in Laos, she now creates exhibition for Qatar Museums in Doha, where she recently curated an exhibition about coffee cultures in Qatar and Indonesia.
