My name is Julie Sojcher, I'm a 28-year-old cisgender woman, and I'm starting my first year of a PhD (ASP-FNRS) at the Centre de recherche ""Pénalité, sécurité et déviances"" in the Department of Criminology at ULB. Before starting my thesis, I obtained two master's degrees, one in Sociology (ULB, 2020), the other in Criminology (ULB, 2022). I then worked for a year at UTSOPI, an organization that fights for the rights of sex workers and has actively campaigned for the decriminalization of sex work in Belgium. Today, this association represents my main research field, giving me access to part of the public studied and to the latest legal and political developments.

My main lines of research involve a socio-criminological analysis of the impact of the decriminalization of sex work in Belgium on the different sectors of sex work, with an intersectional reading.
