Doctor in sociology of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Cathy Herbrand is a Professor-researcher at the Reproduction Research Group in De Montfort University (United Kingdom). She is also a member of the Belgian Bioethics Advisory Committee. His research focuses on family, gender, biotechnology and genetics. Her current research explores the use of new reproductive technologies in the context of genetic diseases. She is also involved in several international projects, notably on the bio-economy of egg donation (ESRC Grant) and surrogacy (CNRS).
