Catherine Lourdes (Kate) Dy is a programme manager and researcher with the Peace Action, Training and Research Institute of Romania (PATRIR) where she coordinates the CHAMPIONs project, which seeks to address polarization, radicalization, and violent extremism in Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Germany. In addition, Kate manages the Migration and Refugee Support and Integration (MRIS) department, which carries out projects supporting the protection and integration of third country nationals, including refugees, asylum seekers, economic- and family reunification- migrants, and victims of trafficking. Within the MRIS, she is directly involved as Scientific Coordinator of the European Pact for Integration, a 30-month project that looks to support seven EU cities in designing tailor-made strategies for the integration of Third Country National migrants.
Kate holds a Ph.D. in political science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium alongside a Ph.D. in political theory from the LUISS Guido Carli di Roma in Italy. Her doctoral research explored international human rights norms in the transnational, regional, and local contexts. At present, she is also currently affiliated as an ingénieur de recherche with the Université Catholique de Lyon and holds a collaboratrice scientifique position with the Laboratoire d'Anthropologie des Mondes Contemporains (LAMC) based at the ULB.
