Synopsis: It is 2017 in the Uyghur Region. Dilber, a 27 year-old single woman, faces increasing pressures to get married. Every day she video calls with her friend Gulnur in Paris, who offers her a solution.

This medium-length film reflects on the challenges that Uyghur women face from both traditional social mores and the highly oppressive political environment in China. The film screening will be followed by a Q&A.

Mukaddas Mijit is an ethnomusicologist, a filmmaker, an artist and postdoctoral fellow at the Université libre de Bruxelles. She is also Scholar on Uyghur artistic reaction in the diaspora after the Human rights crisis in the Uyghur region.

The language spoken during event is English.
