The BelMix team is pleased to invite you to the screening of the documentary جزء منا (“A Part of Us”).

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the co-director, Catherine Therrien, an anthropologist and professor at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI). Her research primarily focuses on identity, conjugal mixedness, family, migration, and transnationalism.

Based on an ethnographic fieldwork conducted with mixed families in Morocco, جزء (“A Part of Us”) is an honest, visceral, and empathetic narrative that immerses us in the unique experiences of mixed families from diverse backgrounds. The film follows them in their daily lives, as well as through their reflections and questions. This multilingual documentary challenges preconceived notions and addresses the issue of living together, demonstrating how love can transcend boundaries—geographical, ethnic, racial, cultural, and religious.
