Thomas Croisez

Thomas Croisez is a PhD student in History at the European University Institute (EUI). He holds a master's degree in history from UCLouvain and a master's degree in political science and international relations from ULB. His research focuses on the phenomena of rivalry and cooperation between French and Spanish missionaries on the colonial frontier of Texas, Louisiana and Florida in the 18th century. The aim is to mobilise both ecclesiastical and imperial sources in order to demonstrate the importance and the entanglement of the power and influence games played by missionaries, indigenous people and other agents of the empires in a particular geopolitical context.
