Jean Luc De Meulemeester

Jean Luc De Meulemeester is professor of History of Economic Thought and of Economic Ethics at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management and of Political Economy of Income and Inequalities at the Philosophy and Social Sciences Faculty. Born in 1965, he studied Economics (ULB, 1987, licence-MA), History (candidature-BA, 1990) and Econometrics (licence spéciale- MSc, 1991) at ULB. He began his career at the Institute of Sociology at ULB (1990-1997) while doing his PhD in Economics (Economics of higher education) (PhD 1996). He spent a year at the Royal Military Academy (1992-1993), several months in Genève (1994) and was a Wiener-Anspach Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford (1997-98). He is professor at ULB since 1999. He wrote scientific articles on economics of education, higher education policy and economic history, while contributing to several newspapers (Belgian and foreign). He was co-editor of Cliometrica (Springer) from 2007 to 2018. He is now working at CEBRIG (Solvay).
