Graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovak Republic (1998 Slovak Language and Literature); 2002 PhD. in Theory and History of Slovak Literature at Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava; 1998 - present: Institute of Slovak Literature of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava; 2008 - 2015: Chair of the 20th Century Slovak Literature Research Department; 2018 - present: Chair of the Department of Literary History. His research focuses on Modernism and Avant-Gardes in Slovak Literature and Culture of the 1920s and 1930s. He is the author of Druhá moderna Second Modernism, 2005, Model človeka a sveta v básnickom diele Jána Smreka (1922 – 1942) The Concept of the Human and the World in the Poetry of Ján Smrek 1922-1942, 2013, Básnik v čase : Smrek – Lukáč – Novomeský – Poničan The Poet in Time : Smrek - Lukáč - Novomeský – Poničan, 2016, co-author and co-editor of Modernizmus v pohybe Modernism in Motion, 2019 and Medzipriestory modernizmu Interspaces of Modernism, 2024, and editor of the anthologies Druhá moderna. Slovenská modernistická próza 1920-1930 Second Modernism. Slovak Modernist Prose 1920-1930, 2018 and DAV. Próza slovenskej ľavicovej avantgardy DAV. The Prose of the Slovak Left-Wing Avant-Garde, 2023. His own poetic works includes several books of poetry and were published and presented in many European countries.
