Angelie Marilla is a PhD student at the Laboratoire d’Anthropologie des Mondes Contemporains (LAMC), Université libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium. Her PhD research is part of a bigger project “Contextual mobility in Europe-Southeast Asia social spaces: Belgian-Vietnamese and Belgian-Laotian couples in focus”. She completed her master’s degree in cultural sociology at Masarykova univerzita, Czech Republic under the Erasmus Mundus Program in 2017. Her research interests include materiality and visuality, cultural sociology, history, postcolonial theory, gender, migration, cultural studies and visual anthropology.
